God’s Servants!

”Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 1Thess 5:12-13”

#  01 2026 Dev. Lev.21-22 God’s Servants! Read all of chapter twenty-one and twenty-two first. We invite you into God’s space, to read His Word, to think on and interact with. This is God’s Story. Do you believe that this may also be part of our story, in our time? All passages are taken from the NIV.

Leviticus 21-22 Priests; “They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the food offerings to the Lord, the food of their God, they are to be holy.”

Lev 21:1-9 Priests, must stay away from the dead, although not a father or mother or single sister or brother. The high priest however is not allowed to touch or mourn a close relative.

Vs.10-15 “‘The woman he marries must be a virgin. He must not marry a widow, a divorced woman, or a woman defiled by prostitution, but only a virgin from his own people, so that he will not defile his offspring among his people. I am the Lord, who makes him holy.’”

Vs.16-24 All sacrifices are to be free from defect. All men with a defect may not present an offering to the Lord. They must not come near the tabernacle but they may partake of the food.

Today, we are set free; “He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.1 Thess. 5:10-11.”

Lev.22 The main concern here is the integrity of the sanctuary. Anyone unclean may not present an offering.

Vs.1-8 “‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or by anyone who has an emission of semen…”

Vs.9-16 The priests must do their work according to the rules laid out by God.  “‘No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired worker eat it.” However, his slave may eat the sacred food.

Vs 17-31 Unacceptable Sacrifices. All animal sacrifices must be a male with no defects. Today, we are blessed to have the ultimate perfect sacrifice given on our behalf, Jesus Christ! Trust in Him and you are acceptable to God! All is forgiven, praise be to God!
